Yesterday on my way back from Kaltukatjara Community my flight was canceled whilst we were sitting on the tarmac to take off from Uluru: Yankunytjatjara & Pitjantjatjara Country.

The first person to turn up to the airport was David Harper GM at Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia at the Ayers Rock Resort Yulara. He professionally and with good humor diffused and explained the situation. He personally welcomed all passengers onto the busses back to the resort and allocated their hotel. From there the checking was seamless.

Later that evening with the restaurant stretched David was on the floor calmly troubleshooting, clearing tables and generally supporting his team. At one point he went behind the bar and poured a soft drink and delivered it to a flat out chef.

With so many overseas visitors on the flight David and his team did a great job to leave everyone with a good impression in the airlines absence.
