Good design isn’t about spending more, it’s about designing with purpose.

Good design isn’t about spending more, it’s about designing with purpose.

My Tuesday this week started early as I took a quick trip to Adelaide for the Australian Health Design Conference ✈️ I met so many thoughtful, passionate people and heard some truly powerful talks.

One that really stayed with me was Dana Shen’s, her ability to bring humanity and dignity into the conversation is remarkable. The way she listens, reflects, and invites us to examine our place within the complex systems we work in is a powerful reminder to continue the work we do at Kaunitz Yeung Architecture in creating spaces that genuinely support and uplift First Nations communities.

Angela Lee’s master class in hospital design was another standout. She showed how evidence-based design and thoughtful planning can create healing environments at any scale. It was a powerful reminder that good design isn’t about spending more, it’s about designing with purpose.
There were also rich discussions around sustainability and climate resilience.

I left feeling energised and grateful to be part of these important conversations shaping the future of health and design. 💙

Big thanks to Kaunitz Yeung Architecture for sending me!
