National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is an opportunity for us all to consider how we can do as the 2025 theme suggests “Bridging Now to Next”.
At Kaunitz Yeung Architecture we have the privillage of collaborating with and supporting the self determination of many First Nations communities. As we do, it is obvious that First Nations elders, people and communities have so much ability and wisdom.
Bridging Now to Next calls on all Australians to step forward together, to look ahead and continue the push forward as past lessons guide us.
For me reconcilliation is in part about bringing us all together so we can utilise the best of each of us to make the best Australia we can. We only inhibit our own success by not walking with our First Nations.
In the hashtagNRW2025 theme artwork created by Kalkadoon woman Bree Buttenshaw, native plants − which are known for regenerating after fire and thriving through adversity − symbolise our collective strength and the possibilities of renewal. This is a time for growth, reflection, and commitment to walking together.
