NSW Editorial Committee met for the first time since the very successful AIA Conference.

Last week, the Australian Institute of Architects NSW Editorial Committee met for the first time since the very successful AIA Conference. We were thrilled to welcome Carol Marra and Jamileh Jahangiri, who have just joined the committee.

It has been a great honour and privilege to be part of the AIA Editorial Committee over the past year, working alongside Matilda Gollan, David Welsh, Cate Cowlishaw FRAIA GAICD, David McCrae, Kieran McInerney, Caine King, Ben Berwick, Mark Raggatt, Jason Goh and Jessica Van-Young.

In the last issue of The Bulletin, we interviewed the AIA Conference speakers—and I was especially delighted to speak with @Jing Liu of SO – IL. She offered candid reflections on her creative process and the challenges she meets with poetic beauty and optimism. Jing is one of those rare individuals who listens carefully, thinks deeply, and responds with both wisdom and warmth. I was also grateful to be invited to a special ‘Shared Meal with SO–IL’, curated by Mori Gallery (founded by Janelle Woo and Umi Koyama Graham) and Copy Nature Office (formed by Umi and Ed Cook). It was a relaxed, beautiful evening shared with creative minds and rich conversation.

A special shoutout to Linda Cheng and James Kennedy for their tremendous work in getting the Bulletin’s last special issue out in time for the Conference.

Preparations for the next issue are already underway—and I look forward to working with the team on it
