Rammed Earth Constructed in 2025: 6,866 m²

December 9, 2025

Using local materials constructed by local people has been at the heart of Ka Wai Yeung’s and my practice from the very beginning.

It’s intrinsic to the values and outcomes that define Kaunitz Yeung Architecture — beautifully connecting with Country, Culture and Community, while dramatically reducing embodied energy through minimal transport and processing.

For more than 20years we have been advocating for the use of local materials in public and community buildings.

To see this approach now resonating across Australia is incredibly exciting and a testament to what is possible when architecture is grounded in place.

Our amazingly dedicated team has made all this possible, huge thank you for 2025!
