Striving for an Australia that is one and free remains a collective endeavour.

Striving for an Australia that is one and free remains a collective endeavour.

My practice is shaped by an innate civic responsibility to confront injustice, grounded in Tikkun Olam (“repairing the world”). This principle is informed by an enduring sense of indebtedness to Country, stemming from the refuge it provided my grandparents after they survived the Holocaust and fled Europe in the wake of the Kielce pogrom.

Bondi’s pogrom unsettled the assumption of Sydney as an unequivocal safe haven, bringing into focus an unease many quietly carry. This cannot be absorbed into yesterday’s news or followed by a return to business as usual; it calls for reflection and courage.

For those looking for a place to begin, hashtagOneMitzvahforBondi is an invitation beyond a single moment – where intent, carried forward collectively, can sustain acts of care that deepen reciprocity and contribute to lasting change.
