July 17, 2025

As part of Ka Wai Yeung and my trip to the Solomon Islands we are reviewing the ongoing probono work of Kaunitz Yeung Architecture. And planning the next round of projcts for Ranongga.org and Partner Housing Australasia.

We are so incredibly grateful to be travelling with Ian Warren of Stellen Consulting and his family. Ian and Stellen have lead the way in the last 10 years in providing access to clean drinking water in most of the villages of Ranongga.

Huge thank you to Rod Johnston and the board of Partner Housing Australasia for thier ongoijg support and funding

Kaunitz Yeung Architecture.was born out of the post disaster response work I was involved with from 2007 following an 8.1 mag earthquake and subsequent tsunami in one of the remotes places on earth.

I spent most of the subsequent years living in remote villages assisting with reconstruction including 132 schools under the Solomon Islands Ministry of Education RARP program. Ka Wai Yeung joined me in 2009 and we have been working with these communities since.

This trip is part reviewing the ongomg work, planning new projects and a family holiday to catchup with old friends.

I am so grateful forthe close bond we still have with these communities and to share this with our boys.
