I am proud to share that yesterday in London at the European Healthcare Design Awards EHD2024 Yutjuwala Djiwar Residential Aged Care operated by Australian Regional and Remote Community Services Ltd and for the Yolngu communities of East Arnhem Land received two awards.
Winner – Health Design (under 25,000sqm)
Highly Commended – Design for Health and Wellness
These awards are particularly meaningful due to the high caliber of the jury. Made up of clinicians, health administrators and architects there is a depth to the judging that goes beyond aesthetics.
As we are busy delivering the next iterations of culturally appropriate residential aged care it is humbling to reflect and celebrate the progress this project marks and the large diverse team involved especially Yolngu elders, organizations and communities.
